MURPHEY CANDLER ELEMENTARY
The mission of the Murphey Candler Elementary School media program is to provide resources and services that are valuable and meet the curricular and instructional needs of the school community as a whole. It is our intent to support the instructional goals of the DeKalb County School System. Our program is designed to provide resources in all formats to meet the informational needs of all students. We will ensure that students and staff are effective users of information and ideas, and will continuously promote the idea of everyone becoming lifelong readers and learners.
"The person who does not read is no better than the
person who can not read." So let's remember to READ, READ, READ!!
This mission is accomplished by:
*allowing for intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats
*providing instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading, viewing, and using information and ideas
*working with other educators to design learning strategies to meet individual needs of students
